Misty Alexander

I am a mother, a believer, and a grandmom to my favorite 4-legged son, Zeus (aka – monster). But most importantly, I am an advocate for your 4-legged fur baby! After becoming a young single mom, accomplishing 23 years of service and dedication at McDonald’s, giving birth to my son at 37 with emergency open-heart surgery 2 weeks after, and losing my mother shortly after my own recovery, I developed the courage to follow my passion. Becoming a groomer was quite a scary change, but I continue to learn and grow. I have dedicated my life to rescuing all kinds of creatures and giving them a voice. When the opportunity presented itself, I couldn’t resist. Grooming is what I was meant to do, and I could not imagine doing anything else! I look forward to helping your fur babies look their best, but most importantly, aiding in keeping them as healthy as possible! This is why I believe in miracles!

FAQs

What is matting, and why is it important for my pet to remain mat-free?
K
L

Mats form when loose hair, dirt, and oils get trapped together, creating tight knots (generally close to the skin) that can pull on your pet’s skin, causing discomfort, sores, and acting as a breeding ground for a variety of skin conditions, infections, or parasitic activity.

Why might I want my pet to receive a de-shedding service?
K
L

The de-shedding service acts as a prevention service for matting (provides examination of skin condition and presence of lumps) by reducing excess hair that can trap dirt, oils, and allergens, keeping your pet’s skin cleaner and healthier. Deshedding helps your pet better regulate body temperature, and by doing so, it also minimizes the amount of loose fur on your furniture, floors, and clothing.

How will the size of my pet be determined when calculating service fees?
K
L

MBMB Bubbly Pawz closely follows the AKC breed registry when determining the size of your pet and what individualized services they may need. This will be communicated and agreed upon with the pet owner at the time of scheduling and once again at check-in.

How long does a groom session take?
K
L

Grooming sessions can vary in duration based on the size and breed of your pet, their coat condition, the services requested/needed, and your pet's experience/response during grooming.

How often should my pet be groomed?
K
L

To maintain good pet hygiene and healthy coat conditions, grooming is typically done every 4 weeks and no longer than 6 weeks. Upon scheduling/check-in at MBMB Bubbly Pawz, grooming/scheduling professionals will work together with the pet owner to determine a routine that best fits the pet's needs.

Why can't I accompany my pet during their grooming session in the mobile salon?
K
L

Due to the nature of our practice and the equipment used, it is imperative that the pet is able to focus on the directions given by the groomer with minimal distractions, in order to ensure the safety of both the pet and the grooming professionals. Furthermore, it is essential to provide and maintain the necessary space to safely and efficiently offer grooming services.

Should I enter the mobile salon during my pet's grooming session?
K
L

As exciting as a groom session may be for everyone involved, pet owners are not to handle grooming equipment or enter the facility at any time before, during, or after a grooming session. This is to ensure the safety of all those involved during a grooming session. Grooming professionals will maintain appropriate communication during a grooming session at all times necessary. MBMB Bubbly Pawz is a self-sufficient mobile grooming facility that does not require any additional resources from clients in order to provide services, keeping our services offered as conveniently as possible for the client and pet.

Why might I want the Sonic toothbrush cleaning as a part of my pet's oral hygiene regimen?
K
L

Sonic tooth brushing uses a special pet-safe toothbrush that vibrates at a very high frequency. The sonic vibrations create micro-bubbles that gently break up plaque and bacteria- reducing bad breath (making it more comfortable for sensitive pets or health conditions), even in hard-to-reach spots between the teeth and along the gumline. Regular sonic brushing helps prevent gum disease, tooth loss, and systemic health issues linked to poor oral hygiene (like heart or kidney disease). Which directly impact dietary needs.

Why might I want to include anal gland expression as a part of my pet's hygiene regimen?
K
L

Dogs have two small scent glands located just inside their rectum, called anal glands. These glands naturally release a strong-smelling fluid when pets go to the bathroom or mark territory. Sometimes, however, the glands don’t empty on their own. When that happens, they can become impacted, swollen, or even infected. It benefits both the client and their pet to incorporate this practice as part of their regular grooming session, as full or blocked glands can be painful, causing symptoms such as scooting, licking, or difficulty sitting. Additionally, it reduces strong odors and leakage on furniture or bedding. Most importantly, regular expressions enable groomers to identify early signs of gland problems, which may indicate dietary or health issues.

Will MBMB Bubbly Pawz groom an aggressive pet?
K
L

Due to the nature of this service, additional service fees may apply in order to ensure the safety of the pet and the grooming professionals. Furthermore, if deemed appropriate, muzzling may be required to complete a grooming session, and the pet owner will receive ongoing communication regarding their pet's behavior during the session. MBMB Bubbly Pawz strongly encourages all clients to have a thorough understanding of all website information and waiver form details to gain a comprehensive understanding of the services provided and operational procedures.
